The aim of the PhD program of Social Science, is to train PhD researchers specialized in the interdisciplinary field of Social Sciences by developing the entire research process necessary for the preparation and defense of a doctoral thesis.
Application procedures and requirements.
It is recommended that students who enter the program have completed a bachelor's or master's degree in the areas of Social Sciences.
To those students in which the Academic Committee of the program detects any training deficiency, they may be required to complete training, which may be the Research Methodology Module (proposed in this Program for those students who come from undergraduate degrees). or postgraduate degree lacking such training), or any of the master modules related to this Program, depending on the line of research in which the student intends to incorporate.
The requirements for access to doctoral programs are established by Royal Decree 99/2011, of January 28, which regulates the official doctorate education, which establishes that, in order to access them, it will be necessary to be in possession of the official titles of degree, or equivalent, and of university master's degree.

Students who meet the above requirements can access the doctoral program, being the Academic Committee of the program responsible for verifying compliance with the above requirements for the admission of the doctoral student.

Accoding to the Royal Decree 99/2011, of January 28, which regulates the official teachings of Doctorate in UCAM, whose purpose is to allow the classification, comparability and transparency of the qualifications of Higher Education in the Spanish education system.
To complete the regulatory framework set out in Royal Decree 22/2015, of 23 January, this Royal Decree has as its object the regulation of the requirements and the procedure for the issuance of the European supplement to the title of Doctor obtained according to the official teachings of Doctorate regulated in Royal Decree 1393/2007, of October 29, and Royal Decree 99/2011, of January 28, in order to promote the mobility of graduates in the European Higher Education Area, including the expedition of the European supplements to the titles of Doctor of the Erasmus Mundus program and successive.
In turn, the following mentions and regulations are introduced: International Doctorate and Industrial Doctorate. The international co-supervision diligence is also introduced in the official university degree of Doctor. The social reality in which university graduates have to operate makes it necessary for the Government to regulate the mentions and requirements of the International Doctorate and Industrial Doctorate, as well as the international co-supervision diligence to guarantee the rights of Spanish university graduates in the European Space of Higher education.
